ADAS, the Audlem District Amenities Society, report: "This weekend we have the delivery of 40 Fraser Fir Christmas trees for the village displays – on the walls of shops, pubs and other places. These trees have cost us around £500. In addition we will then begin the dressing of all these trees in Buerton House Long Barn. All should be completed by the 28th November. This will be done by Mike Haines, Mike Hill, Bill Consterdine, Michelle Perkin and Rose Consterdine, plus Ralph Warburton.

"Two thousand white pea lights will be affixed to the trees in the Lord Combermere bed by Mike Haines and Ralph over the 26/28th. Then, on the 30th Ralph, along with John Davies and Richard Furber, will harvest the big 40ft tree from a nearby plantation and transport it to the village.

"It is then planned to erect this on the morning of the 1st December. It will be dressed with over 4,000 white pea lights – plus over £450 worth of new LED lights on the 2nd & 3rd December. Phil Baker will oversee and do all the electrical connections. The help of Pete Townsend and his cherry picker is vital in this. The small trees will all be put in place over the 1/2/3rd and the village lit up by the end of the 3rd at the latest.

"This year the big tree is sponsored and paid for by Olive & Geoff Stretch, to whom we are most grateful. All in all the very best and most tasteful display in South Cheshire."
