Turnpike Boardwalk — Beware!!
It's a long time since flooding was as bad as it was last week. You may remember that 10 or so years ago it was so bad that the wooden bridge down at Green Lane floated off its supports — fortunately it simply sat nearby on the bank until Cheshire East were able to hoist it back.
Well this time its the new boardwalk that has floated off its supports!
Please be Very Cautious if you are using that section of the footpath — the ground is Very Boggy!
It's not possible to say how long before the boardwalk will be put back — it will depend very much on ground conditions allowing access by people/machinery.
