THIS SUNDAY: Audlem Festival of Transport rolls in this Sunday with a fun-filled day for all
Get ready for a fantastic day out as the annual Audlem Festival of Transport returns this Sunday 27th July 2025, at Audlem Playing Field. This free, family-friendly event promises something for everyone and is one of the highlights of the village calendar.
A parade featuring several hundred vehicles – including vintage and classic cars, commercial vehicles, tractors, and motorcycles – will delight crowds throughout the day. The vehicles begin assembling at Hankelow Green from 9am, and the parade sets off at 11am, making its way to Audlem, with arrivals at the Playing Field (off Cheshire Street) from around 11:15am. The display continues until 4:30pm. (All times are approximate.)
Live entertainment adds to the atmosphere: Moonlight Serenade will bring the sounds of Glenn Miller to life in the afternoon, while Pinxton Puppets will keep younger visitors entertained with performances throughout the day.
You won t go hungry either – food and drink vendors will be located on the car park, serving up hot and cold food, refreshments, and delicious local ice cream. A pop-up outdoor bar at the back of the Annexe will offer a wide range of drinks to enjoy in the summer sun.
The event is proudly organised by ASET (Audlem Special Events Team), a group of ten dedicated local residents supported by an incredible team of volunteers. ASET also puts together the annual Party on the Park music concert. If you d like to get involved next year, they'd love to hear from you. Call 07708 354135 or email info@audlem-aset.org.
An ASET representative said: We re thrilled to be celebrating 26 years of this fantastic event. Every year, between 3,000 and 4,000 visitors join us, and this year s parade features over 250 vehicles. Huge thanks to all the owners and drivers – we re proud to host such a spectacular display!
And that s not all! Running alongside the Festival of Transport is the popular Historic Boats Gathering, organised by the Historic Narrow Boat Club. This free event invites visitors to admire beautifully preserved working boats (1850 1960), moored along the towpath from the main road bridge to Lock 15.
Whether you re a transport enthusiast or just looking for a brilliant day out with the family, Audlem is the place to be this Sunday!
