Progress continues to be made on the transfer of the playing fields and play area to the Parish Council and, subject to the Cheshire East Portfolio Holder's approval in January, it is hoped that the tripartite lease between Cheshire East Council, Audlem Parish Council and Fields inTrust will be in place by the end of this financial year.
There are a number of statutory and legal processes to be gone through which may cause this to slip a bit. However, assurances have been given by Cheshire East that remedial work on the goal mouth will take place at the end of the season, paid for by them, no matter who has ownership at the time.
Both Councils will do a final walk-around about a month before the transfer date to identify any Health & Safety issues which Cheshire East will then remedy.
After the transfer the Parish Council will be responsible for maintenance. Quotations in line with written specifications will be sought from ANSA (which is owned by Cheshire East Council) and local contractors.
This will comply with the Parish Council's Financial Regulations to ensure that the area is properly maintained at the most economical price.
