Torrid time for Tollgate

So there we have it, 'The answers no – now what's your question' This is Cheshire East's considered answer to the planning application EIA for the Muller development.

Over the last three weeks or so Tollgate Drive has been dug up by contractors working for Scottish Power so a new mains supply can be provided to everyone's house. This presumably is so we can all have and charge electric cars, or the conspiracy theorists amongst us may suspect a supply for the Muller Development at the end of Tollgate Drive!! The road is constantly obstructed by large vehicles blocking a narrow road not designed for this level of access and activity. Residents, several using walking frames, have been forced to walk down the middle of the road due to pavements being closed and construction vehicles parked on pavements.

For many residents it's been a living hell but we know it's only for a few weeks, however, when the building of 133 houses at the end of the road starts that will go on for a year or so, a torrid time indeed. And what is it all for, profit for developers! Much needed houses they would say in enjoying the profit they make. More housing may be needed but in this case in the wrong place. Access to build the houses, and then ongoing access for residents off the new houses into the village, will be very difficult and dangerous when all is considered.

These so called much needed houses are being built in the wrong place, they will be miles from any employment. Does it help the environment having people drive miles to work?

It's a typical CE response when they have a tough decision to make, the answer's no, (because it's an easy decision), now what's your question.
