David Rowe writes to say: "What a privilege it is to live in this village(we are now in our 6th year) when you can go outside at 07.00 on a lovely clear morning and look across to the River Weaver to the magnificent horse chesnut tree and hear the cuckoo and all the other wild birds which are in this area, and a first for ourselves is the nesting box which has sparrows nesting in it."

"Looking at the programme that is once again taking off for the village with the carnival, music week, proms, transport weekend – the list goes on! So, well done to all for the hard work and let's hope the weather is kind to make the events a great day for all."
