Thanks to everyone who helped make our first Thornton House Day Club open afternoon a success on 29th March 2011.

In particular, thanks to those people and local businesses who donated prizes to the raffle. These included the Coffee Lounge, Priest House Coffee Shop, the Lord Combermere and the Canal Shop as well as our Trustees. Along with cake and jam and preserves sales we raised £87 for our funds.

The members who attended enjoyed the busy afternoon and we also had a number of people come along who are interested in volunteering with us to help extend the services we offer.

The first week's Day Club saw ADCA formally taking over the running of the club from Age UK and thus achieving the aim of the original action group set up by the Parish Council to achieve a smooth transition into the day club being run by a local charitable trust, now set up as Audlem & District Community Action.

We currently have a few vacancies for new members. Each Tuesday between 10.00am and 3.30pm we provide social activity, conversation, lunch and various activities for older people who are socially isolated and/or vulnerable who would benefit from attending.

For more information, or if you want to volunteer, contact Veronica Briggs, Co-ordinator on 07813281614 or Roger Millns, Chairman, on 811375
