Our special 'Health and Safety Week' in school has provided a wonderful array of learning opportunities to all classes this week.

As part of our week in school, PCSO Nick visited us for his half termly lunchtime drop in session on Monday, giving the children an opportunity to ask him questions and talk to him about any worries or concerns they may have. They also enjoyed sessions led by PCSO Nick on a range of themes about keeping safe and learnt lots of tips on how to stay safe.

Year 6 were visited by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service on Monday who recapped important road safety messages and they also took part in their 'Growing Up' Sessions on Tuesday.

Congratulations to all of the children who represented our school in the Crewe and Nantwich Town Sports competition this week. They all performed brilliantly in different running, jumping and throwing events on Monday and Wednesday evening. We are all really proud of everyone that took part, well done to you all.

Thanks to Mr Perry for organising this and to all of the family members and staff who cheered the children on during both evenings. It was wonderful to see our school so well represented and supported.

How wonderful it was to share our Sports Day together on Wednesday and the weather held for us – just! It was great to see so many people from home cheering all of the children on and the children competing so well and so enthusiastically. Well done to Lime team for coming 1st overall.

Thanks also to Mr Perry for organising the event, the volunteers who helped with scoring and place giving and to the FASA volunteers who provided refreshments and the much needed ice lollies for the competitors!

After all of our races we tucked into a special Sports Day Themed Packed lunch which Mrs Hayward and Mrs Gavin had prepared in our school kitchen – a real treat!

School Parliament have organised a special fundraising day in school today in aid of NSPCC. Each class is taking part in assemblies and sessions in classes across school focusing on keeping ourselves safe. The donations we have all made for wearing sports clothing in school today will go to support the important work of NSPCC. Thank you for your support with this.

The week was rounded off with our shared Active Audlem session before school on Friday morning – I hope everyone clocked up many more laps on our circuit over the final few weeks of term!

We have delivered a sample of some of our wonderful artwork based on the theme of 'Faith, Hope and Charity' to the Nantwich Museum this week in time for our school to be represented in the special Schoolsfest exhibition which opens this evening.

The children have produced some wonderful pieces of work and I hope many of you are able to visit the exhibition over the next few weeks. Thank you to Evie Byrne and Lizzie Edwards who have volunteered to join me at the special opening of this exhibition this evening to represent our school.

FASA
Thank you to everyone who supported the FASA Quiz Night at the Lord Combermere on Tuesday evening. A special thanks to Mike and Ralph for supporting FASA with this fundraiser, which raised £187 for school funds.

Thanks too to all the volunteers who manned the refreshments stall at our Sports Day; this raised a further £130.

FASA are busy preparing for our Summer Fair on Thursday 7th July. They are planning a great variety of stalls and activities, including songs from our KS2 children. You will be receiving packs of raffle tickets for this event via your child's school bag soon – please look out for them. Your help with the selling of these tickets is much appreciated.

If you have any unwanted and unused gifts suitable for tombola prizes, please send them into the school office to be passed onto FASA for the Fair. NO bric-a-brac please! Thank you.

ABC Childcare
The preschool children enjoyed joining the school children for their sports day on Wednesday – it was great to see them all joining in with the first races!

Thank you to everyone who attended the recent open morning at ABC. If anybody would like to arrange a visit, you are more than welcome to pop in and see the team. Please contact the team at ABC on 01270 748081 for further information.

A reminder of the after school clubs available at ABC this half term: Mondays – Outdoor skills, Tuesdays – Crime busters, Wednesdays – Food tasting and food art, Thursdays – Baking and Fridays – Construction Club.

Au Revoir
We said goodbye to Mr Capewell on Friday as he ends his teacher-training placement in Sapphire class, although we will be seeing him again as he visits school over the next few weeks before taking up a teaching post in September. I would like to thank him for all his hard work whilst he has been with us on his placement.

Finally
Many thanks to all of the parents and carers who have taken time to complete our end of year Parent Survey. It is important that we hear your views and it is good to have your feedback.

If you still have a survey to return, please return it to school by Friday 1st July so we are able to use this feedback in our School Development Planning for next year.
