The Highfields Gala runs again today with lots to see and do. The gates are open from 12noon today and the Gala finishes at 6.00pm.

The Gala is in mememory of the late Jack Baker of Highfields and will raise funds for Audlem Scouts, Guides, Cubs, Brownies and Beavers.

Yesterday saw the Children's Maypole, a Falconry display and Punch and Judy show plus many attractions that continue today. Todays' highlights include the Antiques Road Show (details below) and The Ladies Leopards' Spot Clog Dancers and Morris Dancing.

Last night, 240 diners enjoyed entertainment galore and dinner in the main marquee, all raising money for an excellent local cause. A tombola has raised a large sum with prizes donated by many local organisations and individuals.

Admission is just £6 on the gate today (or was £5 from Audlem Post Office in advance). For children under 16 years of age it's free admission accompanied by an adult.

Highfields is just two miles south east of Audlem on the road to Norton in Hales, past Kinsey Heath. If travelling from Audlem, turn right at the Lodge Gates and follow the drive and signs. There's lots of parking.

This promises to be a very special event which the organisers hope will be remembered for many a year. And it's all for a good cause.
