Picked lots of apples today . A good healthy crop. Lots of apple pies and apple curries to come as I work my Way through them .

Did you know the Granny Smith originated in Australia in 1878 and the Bramley here in England in 1809 from apple pips by Mary Ann Bradford -- as a little girl. That tree still survives today albeit a bit sick and may die . About 350 million Bramleys are harvested each year .

Now to the peeling and the baking. Great with ginger and fruits such as sultanas and apricots .
