Trash Free Trails with Spokes and Laces

What a great Earth Day Spring Clean in Audlem with another fantastic turn out from local residents, the Cubs and Guides.

It was fabulous to meet you all and know that so many people care about our lovely natural spaces in our village.
The brilliant volunteers went in search of any trash that had collected in the green spaces and walkways of the village.
We then sorted it into plastics, metals and others before it went to the local waste disposal site.
Thanks to everyone who popped in to say hello and wanted to get involved in our future clean ups.
We would also like to thank you Audlem Public Hall for the venue, @Molly's Veg Boxes and Sue Satchi for the cakes and biscuits and the Guides for making drinks.

I'm sure many of you will have seen our Facebook and Instagram posts. We are looking to build our online community to spread the word about events such as this so please look us up, like, follow and share!

We are proud to support Trash Free Trails in their good work and are excited to be training to be Citizen Scientists for them. We will be collecting data to add to a national 2 year research project. Please keep watching our progress. It is also worth having a look at the Trash Free Trails website https://www.trashfreetrails.org/ as it has lots of information on it and ways to get involved both in groups and as individuals.
Spokes and Laces has been designated a Community Hub for TFT and will continue to move forwards in Audlem to help our village community look after its beautiful surroundings and reconnect with nature.
