Spellcheck hates anything Welsh

Given tonight is one of the biggest nights in Welsh sporting history, we thought it was appropriate to run something positive about our near neighbours.

Indeed, as those with long memories will recall, it's a country that Audlem came close to joining in 2008 after our very own AudlemOnline referendum produced a much clearer result than last month's EU one. How much better we would all feel if we had only gone ahead, joined Wales and abandoned the clowns who couldn't cope with the might of Iceland – how we would be singing away tonight!

Our Welsh story fell into our laps as we tried to publish two of this morning's stories. One features a comment from local resident Geraint, or Gearing as Spellcheck keeps changing his name too, while a simple name such as Carrog station near Llangollen that ARS are visiting on Saturday was near impossible to publish as it came out in numerous attempts as Carrot station.

Doesn't Spellcheck recognise anything Welsh, we wondered after numerous attempts, eventually successful we hope, to keep the Welsh spelling on screen.

Hopefully, if our neighbours prevail in tonight's big match, and they even hit the news in Silicon Valley, Spellcheck may wake up to the fact that Wales exists and we will be able to type Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch to our heart's content without it being changed automatically to 'St Mary's Church in the Hollow of the White Hazel near a Rapid Whirlpool and the Church of St. Tysilio near the Red Cave.'
