So pigs can fly!

Peter and Christine Silvester from the Canal Shop on Audlem Wharf report that a friend from Matlock dropped in on them, literally, using his light aircraft. He landed at Tilstock, near Whitchurch, as he couldn't find an airstrip any nearer to Audlem. He bought just the one item in the shop – a watering can decorated with a pig – before flying off back home. Which, as Christine quipped, just goes to show that pigs can fly after all!

Their friend says he loved the area and is eager to return. He wonders if there are any landing strips nearer to the village he can use – and not Coxbank International Airport, which he is well aware of. If you have any suggestions, please contact Audlem Online or Peter and Christine at the Canal Shop on 811059.
