Smart-ARS tomorrow

A reminder that the postponed Smart-ARS walk from 29th December (planned as an escape from the Christmas – New Year festivities) is now scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, 26th January, at 10.00am. Hopefully the weather will be kinder this time.

If you are wondering what Smart-ARS is, here's the poetic reminder composed by Mike Mason, one of the Audlem Ramblers Society members helping to organise this quiz driven ramble from Audlem car park. It's now been updated to reflect the new date:

Disappointment rained down when first we evolved
Our ramble in rhyme with some clues to be solved.

Now were all back on track and determined we oughter
Put this baby to bed come hell or high water.

So lace up your boots for this fun village lark
This Saturday coming, it's a stroll in the park.

At the car park in Audlem, at ten, on Jan twenty six
You get your instructions and then get to grips

With the clues you unpick for the route to unravel
With some puzzles thrown in as onward you travel.

Don't fear getting lost, there'll be no mishap
'Cos in case you get stuck we've added a map.

The puzzles bag points if you answer them right
And you gain even more if the map's kept sealed tight.

It's as easy as peasy, as peasy as pie
And the time that you take will soon settle a tie.

At the finish awaits hot mulled wine in a glass
For the winners, a trophy as this year's smart ARS.
