Skill and control from Saints

ASC Saints travelled to Sandbach to play Red Dot U11s in the South Cheshire Youth Football League today, Sunday.

This was a super performance and the 4-1 winning scoreline was a fair one. Saints got going from the first whistle and zipped the ball around the pitch with great skill and control. Such was the hard work and inventiveness shown by the boys that at times it seemed as if they had a man extra.

The first goal had everything; a strong tackle in defence followed by an accurate pass out; great hold-up play out wide and a simple pass to the edge of the box; a midfielder arriving right on cue to smash the ball against the bar....and just to complete the skill set there was a player on hand to tap the rebound home. Great stuff.

A second goal was added before half time and two more followed in the second half. Red Dot registered a late consolation goal but this was an excellent team performance with everyone doing their job. Well done indeed.

No game over Easter and then Saints have the last five league games and a cup semi final to look forward to.
