Shortest Day daffodils

A couple of days ago, we published Dylan Jones' photo of a daffodil flowering on the bank of Audlem Brook at Salford and asked if any other daffodils were already in flower.

Anne Draper has responded, saying: "I took this photo in our garden on 21st December, the shortest day.

"They have been flowering in our garden in Hankelow for many years but usually in February as they are called 'February Gold' – never before in December, a lovely sight on Christmas Day!"
