The second short-ARS walk takes place this Saturday (March 27th), meeting at 9.30am on Audlem Car Park.

The walk will be led by Howard Jones.

Howard will check whether there will be space for everybody on the carpark at Market Drayton Swimming Baths. If not, then Howard will advise where we will park when we meet on Saturday morning.

Assuming that we start from Market Drayton Swimming Baths, we will then walk back up the hill back toward Market Drayton turning left into the church grounds and then left again down a road that takes us away from 'Drayton'.

We will then cross a road turning right over the river Tern following a muddy path alongside the river for about a mile before crossing the river and ascending some wooden steps. The path is slightly overgrown at one point and we will need to push past a holly hedge.

We eventually join a road which takes us past Buntingsdale Hall where we turn left through fields toward the Market Drayton Golf Club; we continue through the golf course then up a very muddy track before rejoining a road which leads us to the Four Alls pub.

The route then takes us across the road and down to Tyrley Locks where we will turn left back along the canal to Market Drayton. There are some very steep steps when we exit the canal path but apart from that there are few obstructions or difficulties on the route.

The section to The Four Alls should take about 2 hours with the next stretch lasting about an hour or an hour-and-a-half. The whole distance to be walked is somewhere between five and six miles.
