Following Audlem Online's news story about the A525 earlier today, and a reference to the work on the sewer from the Moseley's Yard development, we have received the following letter from United Utilities and their contractors, Morgan Est Utilities.

It appears the work in the village centre will take place later than first planned, probably in August or September:

Important Information – sewer improvements in Audlem Update

As part of our current investment plan to improve the reliability of the sewer network in your area, we propose to carry out sewer work in Kingbur Place (Moseley's Yard Housing Development), the Fire Station and connect into the existing sewer in Shropshire Street.

The proposed work would consist of re-routing the existing sewer in Kingbur Place into Shropshire Street, and will be carried out by Morgan Est on our behalf.

We invited you in May to attend our Mobile Visitor Centre, in order for us to explain our plans. We are still in discussions with the local fire brigade regarding access for the fire engine, and the design of the work. As a result of your attendance to our visitor centre, several residents expressed concerns regarding the town's festivals in June and July. We have listened to your concerns and will not disrupt either of the festivals.

Once we have finalised our plans we will contact you again to inform you when we have a firm date to start the work, we hope this will be in August / September this year.

In the meantime if you need any further help or information please phone us on 0845 746 2200 quoting the above project reference. We're open between 08:00am and 8:00pm Monday to Friday, 08:00am and 6:00pm on Saturday and 08:00am and noon on Sunday. We also have a 24-hour emergency service on the same phone number. We'll be happy to help.

Yours faithfully

Jason Boyd
Project Coordinator
