Scrap metal warning

A local resident has contacted Audlem Online to warn about the potential removal of scrap and other items from people's properties, whether they need to be removed or not.

It appears, we are told, that there could be a gang or an individual removing items from farm buildings and sheds in the Audlem area.

It seems that cold callers using a white van have been asking about scrap and then certain items have been removed during the silent hours – much to the owners' displeasure.

Our correspondent suggests that villagers are warned about this situation and says they may consider noting down the registration of any vehicles connected with the above practice for insurance purposes if the van arrives at their property or anything is removed without permission.
