Audlem School has, yet again, attracted front-page splash coverage in the Nantwich Chronicle with, in addition, a detailed report on page three of the newspaper.

The report features the letter sent to parents that was published on Audlem Online on Monday and the Local Authority's response that we published the following day.

A number of other residents are quoted too, including a Mr Preston whose two children attend the school. He says a "small minority of parents are giving the school a bad name and causing trouble."

He added: "I'm very happy with school and I'm proud to send my children there. It's disgusting that a few parents are affecting my chidren's education by stirring up things and rocking the boat when 95% of the parents are happy."

A former governor for 25 years, Bill Consterdine, is also quoted. He says: "This whole matter is leaving a bad taste in people's mouths. I know most parents are absolutely delighted with the school.

The Chronicle then goes on to quote former chairman of the governors, Hilary Serif – her full statement was published yesterday on Audlem Online.

At present, we are not publishing Chatbox comments. Experience last year shows that the debate can escalate rapidly – albeit many comments are totally sensible and pertinent – and that may hinder rather help in finding a solution.

We apologise to those frustrated by this Chatbox stance but hope you will understand.
