There should be a fascinating Thursday evening at the Audlem District History Society meeting. Well known local historian Roger Wickson is speaking on "Some monastic scandals of the 12C & 13C".

Roger Wickson read history at Cambridge and was headmaster of the King's School, Chester from 1981 to 2000. He is a notable canal boat enthusiast as well as passionate about medieval history – notably the medieval Church and its monastic subsidiaries. His published works include "The Community of the Realm".

Visitors are always welcome at Audlem District History Society and the meeting starts at 7.45pm (on Thursday)

in the Audlem Scout & Guide Hall in Cheshire Street.
