Santa's Sleigh

This year the Santa Sleigh of The Crewe & Nantwich Round Table toured the village and surrounding district on the 5th & 6th nights.

A total of more than 6 hours or more as more than 20 volunteers tramped the streets and avenues and so narrow lanes of such as Cox Bank, calling at all doors to collect as much as ppossible for a charity of our own village.

A huge thank you to all of those men women and teenagers who turned out in such wonderful numbers this year to help keep alive this very happy tradition.
All in all just under £1050 was collected. A great result.

The new sleigh is a magnificent affair having been built from scratch by that world famous maker of Ice Cream Vans of Crewe- Whitby Morrison. The first ever Santa sleigh they have ever built.

At a cost of about £30,000 and all given totally free to Round Table.!!!

Round Table, by the way for those who do not know, is a charitable and social networking organisation for men up to the age of 45. Founded in 1927- and whose members undertake a huge effort at Christmas covering all of the Crewe, Nantwich areas plus ourselves here.

We hope that next year will see Santa here once more to tour the houses and meet the children- whose shining eyes are so open and happy as they greet Santa on his sleigh. A truly happy opener for Christmas time here.
