Audlem Saints U8s football team made it 6 wins from 7 games on Sunday, beating Cougars U8s 2-0. The Audlem boys defended well for the whole of the game. So well, in fact, that the Audlem goalkeeper did not have a single save to make. Saints dominance was not reflected in the score as chance after chance was saved, missed or fluffed! Patience and persistence paid off eventually as a well taken corner resulted in a scramble in the Cougars' penalty area. It is still unclear who applied the final touch, but a goal it was and that seemed to settle the Audlem players a little. With a few minutes remaining, three quick passes and an accurate side foot finish sealed the game. Next week, Saints take on the Bears in an earlier kick off than is normal, at 11am.
