Drivers into Nantwich will find the going a lot easier today when Wellington Road reopens after a two month closure.

United Utilities says sewer works are complete and Cheshire East is resurfacing the road in time for weekend traffic to resume along the busy route.

According to Cheshire East Highways resurfacing work on Wellington Rd was completed yesterday and white line painting is continuing.

The roadworks were first scheduled to end in on September 10th but work on replacing the sewers was delayed after an unknown sewer was unearthed.

The work on replacing sewers in Wellington Road should end long-term flooding problems for local householders.
