Keen gardeners will be interested to hear that there may be a rethink by Cheshire East Council over the suspension of garden waste collections for such a lengthy period in the future.

A letter from the council in response to an Audlem resident's complaint says: "Following a comprehensive communications campaign the Council has received feedback from residents stressing concerns regarding the commencement of the suspension period.

"In view of this feedback and the mild weather experienced in November, the council will be reviewing the commencement and duration of future garden waste suspension periods."

Previously the service was suspended from late November until mid- January but in October this year the council announced that it had extended the period for not collecting green waste from November 18th 2013 to March 14th 2014.

Last month, a concession was announced saying residents could use their black bins for garden waste for the next two collections. The announcement was made on Tuesday 19th November, just after most in Audlem had had their black bin collection that Tuesday so that should mean next Tuesday will be the second of the two collections covered by the concession.
