Audlem Online saw a big leap in the number of readers checking out the website with a record number of 25,252 readers in November, or an average of 841 a day.

This is 16% up on the previous best monthly figure of 21,697 in October. While we are never quite sure about how these figures are calculated – they come from an independent website that specialises in such things – we are pretty confident about the continuing upward trend.

We do know there was a big boost at the start of the month as people checked out the ASET Bonfire & Fireworks details – an event that attracted 4 – 5,000 people to enjoy the fireworks – and there was another surge of interest in The Big Switch On, organised by ADAS, Audlem Traders and St James' school.

Then again, and we say this with some trepidation given a current controversy, it may be the Chatbox, and the range of views expressed with such fervour, that attracts so many to read Audlem Online.

Our thanks to all who read, contribute stories, features and photos, send in Chatbox comments and alert us to local news for your interest. Most of all, thank you to those organisations and individuals that make so much happen here. Without you, there would be nothing to write about.
