Heavy rain triggered a spate of road accidents and traffic problems across the region today.
Train services between Crewe and London were disrupted when a vehicle hit a bridge near Crewe Alex FC.
The accident resulted in train cancellations and delays of up to one hour affecting services by Virgin Trains, Northern Rail, CrossCountry and East Midlands Trains.
An accident on the A500 D-Road at the A50 Sideway roundabout this afternoon has resulted in long tailbacks.
Numerous reports of flooding are reported, with the M54 in Telford temporarily closed this morning by heavy rains although police say it was open again this afternoon.
The Met Office forecasts more rain tomorrow and drivers are being warned to take extra care in the difficult conditions.
