Proms on the Park this evening

(The website link that was here no longer works) Today is Proms on the Park day – one of the great events in the Audlem calendar. The weather may not have been too kind in recent weeks, but those who saw the Glastonbury mud on TV, or were even there, should have no fears. The Audlem outdoor arena is beautifully drained and well covered with, yes, we admit it, very green grass.

All are confident that the BBC weather forecast that it will stop raining a good few hours before the music starts, before restarting an hour or so after the programme ends, is spot on. And even if there is a little damp in the air, Promenaders will recall that this "Green and Pleasant Land' would have been brown without some rain and Britannia would never have ruled the waves without occasionally getting wet!

Tickets are still on sale at the Post Office and other locations throughout the area, or you can pay on the gate. ASET, the Audlem Special Events Team, who always put on a great show, assure us that the show will go on. However, the programme may be curtailed if conditions cause safety issues.
