Praise and Thanks

A poem by Jessie

If medals were available
I know, from my heart,
Who would be wearing them!

Not just medals. Praise and many, many words of thanks
For everyone working for ADCA
Especially in these worrying times

But I must say a big thank you to all who telephone me
Those kind folk who deliver my shopping –
They all help brighten my days – V.I.P's in my opinion

My family are wonderful, as families are,
They pay me visits, as and when they can
Friends and neighbours become drawn together,
In times of adversity- as they did in wartime

We know nothing of this virus –
But we must adhere to medical advice
As to do what is best for us

If we don't listen and attempt to understand
Why we are given this advice,
This virus will continue to spread
Amongst us and ..... more lives will be lost –
More hearts will be broken
