£400 for a box

(The website link that was here no longer works) £400 was raised on Friday evening towards the purchase of a Shelter Box for use across the world in emergency situations. The money was raised at Audlem Methodist Church (The website link that was here no longer works) at a most enjoyable 'Meal and Music Evening'. Local musicians Val Warner and John Gunstone provided the entertainment, which was fitted around a three-course meal cooked on the premises. Shelter boxes contain a waterproof shelter, a warm bed, water purification, cooking aids and utensils, a practical tool kit and children's pack for ten people. Each box costs about £500. AMC purchased one earlier in the year and are now nearly able to purchase a second. Click on the picture to see some further 'meal and music' photos.
