Postal issues for MP

Two local MPs have been receiving many letters and emails about the postal problems caused by Royal Mail over recent months.

Crewe & Nantwich MP Edward Timpson has been vocal before and after the closure of the Crewe Sorting Office in his constituency. The problems seem to stem from that closure and resulting significant issues at the Warrington Sorting Office which now handles local post.

Audlem and district's MP Stephen O'Brien has spoken to Audlem Online and has been in touch with constituents who have contacted him about the issue. He is well aware of the many stories published on Audlem Online.

He is keen to hear of any continuing problems, including missing mail as well as late mail, so that Royal Mail can be pressed to be more forthcoming than they have been to date about the scale of the problem.

If you wish to contact Stephen O'Brien by email his address is OBrienS@parliament.uk">OBrienS@parliament.uk or any information on this issue received by Audlem Online will be forwarded to him.

Audlem Online is also submitting a formal complaint to Royal Mail's complaints process – this step was supported by those on the Chatbox who responded to our last story that followed a disappointing response from chief executive Moya Greene's office.

The formal complaint will focus on the use of a marquee in Warrington where, we have been told by a number of sources, local mail was simply dumped without adequate security. Royal Mail refused to comment on this in their latest response to questions about the marquee.
