post office

Dear Audlem

For four years now I have housed a Post Office local, within my little chocolate shop in Cheshire street and the support for both sides of the business has been utterly overwhelming and very much appreciated throughout its tenure.

However, it has become apparent that a small minority in the community are using the feedback option on the post office website / google to show dissatisfaction with services provided by the Royal Mail and/or Post Office.

Now more than ever, the royal mail, post office and key workers are under enormous pressure due to the current circumstances and I understand that everyone is entitled to voice their opinions.

I would always encourage persons to speak to myself or my staff first, to see if there is a way to help or improve the service we provide to the community.

I am reaching out to everyone, to try and make those who use this service understand, that royal mail issues are seperate to post office as they are no longer one and the same business, all these reviews go against me as a business owner and not Royal mail/Post office.

I am not employed by either company, I am a self employed business owner.

It disappoints me that people do not engage in conversation first, when the majority of the issues are due to factors beyond my personal control and are then directed towards me following complaints received via the royal mail or post office complaints system.

I recently received a complaint regarding the closure of the store in between Christmas and the start of January, baring in mind, I like many key workers had worked almost solidly since the first lockdown in March and opened extra hours to accommodate the Christmas rush. It was therefore extremely saddening to receive such feedback.

It makes me question whether certain people still want a post office In the village?

To all those who have been nothing but supportive to me and my staff for taking on this essential community service, I can only thank you and promise to continue to play a key role in these dark days.

If you or someone you know has any concerns with post office, royal mail or the services provided by Audlem Post Office and its staff, please be encouraged to talk to us first and we can help guide you appropriately, to make sure your voice is heard via the correct channels.

Please continue to stay safe, and be kind to those still working throughout these difficult times.

Megan and the LLLovely Team.
