The Audlem Lass team identified a work party (Roy Plume and myself) to carry out some safety improvements to the landing pontoon at Overwater.

As you can see the pontoon has grown safety barriers around three sides. That links to hand rails for the approach steps, again the steps have been realigned with new risers to give a regular step height.

Also the approach path has been excavated, me on the shovel with Roy on the wheel barrow. Janet and Angus Maughan from Overwater have supplied all the path in-fill gravel for free. (Thank you to them!)

We just have a few bolts and screws to add to the decking area where we had to make some adjustments, and the job will then be finished.

Other than it just remains to re fix all the signage, RNLI flag and bunting. The flag is very important to the Audlem Lass helmsman as it gives a guide to wind direction when coming along side the pontoon.

In turn, Rodney Cottrell has got this action covered. It all links to the 2012 season and the boat crews' on-going focus for the comfort and safety of our customers.
