On Saturday 30 August 2014, between 09.00am and 11.30 am there will once again be a stall providing information about both the Neighbourhood Plan and next year's Parish Plan underneath the Buttermarket.

The Neighbourhood Plan

As you are aware, Audlem has been confirmed as one of the nine councils that will be in the Cheshire East front-runners group to develop their Residents First Neighbourhood Plan. In order to achieve this we need to have lots of voluntary help, either by joining the Steering Group or any of the Working Groups that will need to be set up.

We have already received offers of help from some residents, but need more. A form has been produced for residents to not only offer help, but also suggest places where development might take place, ask questions or make comments about the process. The form can be found either on AudlemOnline (click here) or in various shops in the village – Williams' Newsagents, The Post Office, Boots, Oxtail and Trotter and the Deli.

In order for a Neighbourhood Plan to be successful, there needs to be involvement of all age groups. With this in mind the Parish Council is holding a summer competition for the younger residents.

The competition is to find out what the younger residents want Audlem to look like in the future. This can be either done pictorially or in writing with a poem or short story. More information will be available about this competition.

The Parish Plan

Audlem Parish Plan has been produced in both 2005 and 2010 and is due for renewal next year. Audlem was one of the first in Cheshire to produce a Parish Plan and the Action Plans that were drawn up in both years have helped to shape Audlem during that ten-year period. This was done through various Working Groups looking at different aspects of life in Audlem. Volunteers will be required to join these Working Groups.

The Questionnaire

The Parish Council and the Parish Plan Group have agreed to work in conjunction in producing a questionnaire that will be the basis of both plans. In addition, the Parish Plan Group will have members on the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Committee and members of the Parish Council will be on the Parish Plan Working Groups.

So please.....

...do come along on Saturday morning when Parish Councillors and representatives of the Parish Plan Group will be there to answer questions about the processes involved in both of these plans which will help shape Audlem's future.
