Just before Christmas Audlem Online was asked to e-mail one of Ken Maple's superb photographs of Audlem Wharf and the Shroppie Fly. With Ken's permission, this was done and we are delighted to publish the following message just received.

#From Ted Edwards
I refer to your e-mail to my daughter, Janice Diaz, dated 13th Nov. 2011, with which you kindly forwarded, and provided Ken Maple's permission to reproduce, the digital photograph of the Shroppie Fly; to enable it to be made into a  jig-saw; to be given to my wife as a Christmas present.

As a background to this present, my wife and I, (Ted & Connie Edwards) lived in Hayfields Grove in Audlem from 1989 until November 2006, when we emigrated to the USA to join our younger daughter in Florida.

We maintain our association with Audlem through your excellent web-site, which we visit two or three times a week; and frequent correspondence with friends in the Village.

We still derive a great deal of pleasure from the continual awards and commendations that the Village receives, through its active residents. At least, the Florida sunshine could brighten a winter's day in Audlem.

Many thanks to you and Ken Maple from Janice. The jig-saw was a great success.

Ted  Edwards.
