Photos from the Big Switch On

We have received some photos from last night's Big Switch On event, shown here.

The event seems to have been a big success, judging by the numbers of people throngiing the Square , the Wharf and then the village shops,

There were large numbers of excited children, all making for a very festive occasion to start the run-up to Christmas,

The photographs, thanks to Philip Baker and Geoffrey Smethurst, help to convey the pleasure of the occasion.

Another heartfelt "well done" to ADAS, the Audlem Lass, Audlem Traders and St James School.

And thanks also to this year's sponsors, the Rushton family, and to the Allinsons, the owners of the tree plantation where the tree came from.
