This is a summary of points which arose at the Audlem Parish Council meeting on Thursday (10th April), kindly provided by reader Chris Briggs. The official minutes of the whole meeting will appear on the Parish Council website.

Co-option – no applicants, the advert will continue.

There was a discussion around the Cheshire East decision that EIA not needed for any planning application for possible building work at the end of Tollgate Drive.
The APC is arranging a public meeting with developers which will take place at 6.00pm 24th April 2025 at the Methodist church hall.
No change with the police investigation.

Rachel Bailey reported that Cheshire East has funding of £3.8m which will be spent on crisis support.
A local plan consultation is taking place. The new bus service is considered a success.

Audit – there is a projected £8k underspend by the APC. The accounts still aren't sorted out due to the missing funds.

Clerk to get quote with a view to appointing an accountant for the annual accounts and audit process.

Report read out from the clerk which will appear in the minutes. Mainly administrative matters and the lengthsman wants some new boots.

Parish matters –
a) a meeting was attended in Crewe. Some discussion amongst those present. Feeling that if (when) devolution takes place more rural areas may miss out on investment/opportunities
b) a questionnaire was gone through, members gave their views which will be fed back
c) a new lease document has been produced which will be sent to the tenant
d) APC is continuing to liaise with various agencies/parties to develop the best use of the field. Some funding may be available. A complete report should be ready for the May meeting. A contract to for field maintenance has been quoted for.
e) APC liaising with ADAS re the area. New quote awaited for the maintenance required.
f) consideration being given to organising a litter collecting day of action involving local residents to keep the village tidy.
