At the Parish Council meeting on Monday evening last, the Chair of the Council, Heather Jones, and the Vice-Chair, Geoff Seddon, were unanimously reappointed to their roles for another year.
There are apparently plans to close the A529 between Audlem and Market Dratton for several weeks during the summer.
An impassioned plea was read out from the Audlem Traders, who fear significant loss of business during such closures, and the Council undertook to talk to Shropshire Council about how the effects of the closures might be mitigated.
An acknowledgement (but no further reply) has been received from the Post Office authorities in response to the Council's letter about the Post Office closure. Councillors voted to pursue the matter urgently and to request some kind of timescale within which the matter will be dealt with.
The last of the cameras to be installed looking over the car park is expected to be installed within three or four weeks.
