It is clear following the Parish Council meeting of the 29th July that the relationship between the Parish Council and the residents appears to be at an all time low and that this is a tremendous shame for such a vibrant and active village.
The key issue for this meeting was the unresolved issue as to why the Community Organisations were not able to use the Turnpike Field for which it was purchased
Whilst we have received a number of observations on this situation we would suggest that the best way forward might be to focus on working out the way forward and not throwing retrospective blame on ex- councillors
Councillors surely must make every effort to regain the confidence and support of the community – otherwise they should not be councillors.
We strongly encourage the councillors and the previous owners to spare no effort in rebuilding Trust and agreement between them and we would implore both sides to stop wasting money on solicitors /lawyers.
Maybe AudlemOnline could contribute by asking for and publishing some kind of progress report
from a councillor nominated as the "lead councillor" at a predefined frequency ( maybe fortnightly)
which should include progress made and next steps with target dates.
Such reports could be posted on the APC website, Audlem Life, and AudlemOnline
