The Parish Council has agreed to pay this year's village bunting bill of £400.
Village community group ASET (Audlem Special Events Team) are set to string up scores of flags around the village centre this weekend.
The annual display marks the start of the village festivals season which opens in 2013 with the Whitsun Bank Holiday Music & Arts Festival from May 23rd – 27th.
New bunting is bought each year and is billed to the parish council to help defray the cost.
Some councillors at the Audlem Parish Council meeting were surprised to be told that new flags are purchased every year.
And some asked if the bunting bill was not included in the annual Parish Council cash handout made towards staging annual village events.
But councillors were told that the parish has always covered the costs of bunting and the meeting voted to cover the £400 outlay for this year's display of flags.
