I am delighted to report that last night we held our now to be Annual Choral evening by the joint choirs of Audlem Voices and The Crewe Male Voice Choir.

The event was a total sell out with not a chair empty. And all those who came to listen were treated to a true "tour de force" as the wonderful sound of the human voice filled the magnificence of the Church of St James.

Under the superb direction of Musical Director Jenny Collis-Smith, the members of the choirs gave of their best in a beautiful wide ranging selection of songs. I was particularly moved by the soft and gentle Welsh lullaby, sung so sweetly and so movingly.

The time passed so quickly and at the close, the audience was grand in their applause for a night to remember. Yet another shining facet on the jewel that is Audlem.

I can now say that we will be asking the choirs to perform for us next year on October 29th – date to put in the diary.

We thank all who helped us in putting on such a pleasant evening. Thanks to Helen Chantry for the use of the Church; to Judy Tarrant for her unstinting help at the interval and to those members of the ADAS committee who were able to be with me.
