Today, hitting sixes in cricket matches is not that unusual, and, given modern equipment, not that difficult as the scoring in twenty-twenty matches shows.

But fifty years ago, it was nothing like such a common event, which makes Gary Sobers feat of despatching every ball of a six-ball over for six on August 31st 1968 quite amazing. The unlucky bowler was Malcolm Nash, bowling for Glamorgan against Nottinghamshire, for whom Sobers played that season.

The fifth ball of the over was actually caught on the boundary by Roger Davis but the fielder's impetus made him fall over the boundary rope.
