Many readers passing through the village centre will have seen work underway at the old Co-op on the Square in Audlem. Since the Co-op shop moved to brand new premises across the road in Moseley's Yard, the historic old building has been looking somewhat forlorn and increasingly run down.

We are delighted to report that the building is being restored to its former glory with a fully renovated roof, a more subdued classic colour scheme and accommodation for up to three shop units – as in pre-Co-op days – and flats above.

David and Emily Siwoku from Hankelow who have taken over the building and are hard at work themselves on the restoration project are interested in any old photos of the building. They say that one of the shops has been taken up and will happily discuss the letting of the flats – one is two bedroom accommodation, the other one bedroom, and both fitted out to a high specification – and the shops. They can normally be found on site working hard on what appears to be a massive project or call 07831 459800.
