The local NSPCC branch committee will be setting up their stall under the Buttermarket next Saturday (19th May) from 10 am to around 12 noon. On offer will be good quality bric-a-brac and second-hand books etc. If you have anything you'd like to donate to help raise money for this worthwhile charity please contact Rose on 01270 811647.

This event is the latest in the Audlem NSPCC committee's fund-raising efforts which over the last year have raised almost £7,500. Major contributions have come from the house to house collection which takes place every year in early to mid September; coffee mornings (of which the next is due to take place on October 20th) and their most recent fund-raising event was a Barn Dance held in the Public Hall on 24th February. At this most enjoyable dance the Crofters Ceilidh Band gave their services free; the hotpot supper was provided by local chef Paul Ratcliffe; and the profit from the evening amounted to a magnificent £1,372. Thanks to all who contributed in any way.

Do continue to support the local fundraisers by calling in at their stall at the Buttermarket next Saturday morning. There is bound to be something worth buying there.
