NSPCC quiz raises £1,357

On behalf of Audlem District NSPCC committee I am delighted to announce that we made a profit of £1,357 at the quiz night held on Friday 11th October, 2013.

The event was a huge success and the room was full of quizzers, each trying their hardest to beat some very accomplished teams. There was plenty of good food and fun for all and thanks must go to everyone that contributed to the success of the evening in any way.

A special thanks must, of course, go to the famous TV personality, Nick Hancock, who gave his services free. This was his third appearance as quiz master at our quiz and once again, his professionalism and witty repartee was much appreciated.

Another important part of the evening was the food which was superb. Thanks to Paul Ratcliffe and his father Alan for the lasagne and to members of the committee for the apple pies.

Next, I must thank the men who ran the bar, especially Ralph Warburton who organised the bar even though he has no personal connection with the NSPCC committee. (He also provided the picture round of the quiz which had many people scratching their heads.)

Finally, thanks to all who supported the event by buying tickets to attend, raffle tickets on the night and by joining in the event. Without you we would not have had such a successful evening, raising funds for this vital charity.
