ADCA half year report  ADCA (Audlem and District Community Action) has been successfully running the day club at Thornton House since April this year, and we are more or less at full capacity with twenty members, which is great.

We’ve also started our new Coffee Club, now each Friday between 10 and 12 noon and the Befriending Service although the new services are getting off to quite a slow start.  Please come along to the coffee club and don’t hesitate to refer anyone, particularly housebound older people, to Ronni Briggs for the befriending service.

Five new volunteers are now on the books, with one or two more being signed up shortly.  We need also to say a huge thank you to Pat Ripley, Janet Mellor and Gwen West who have each provided many years of invaluable service to the day club. They have now taken a back seat from the main volunteer rota but I’m sure we will seeing them from time to time!

ADCA is now a registered charity as well as being a registered company. This means we can now claim Gift Aid on donations that we receive which will be a big help to our funds.

#Supporters
As a Charitable Company, we are run by registered Supporters (who are registered Members of the Charitable Company) who vote at the AGM on key decisions including the appointment of future Trustees of ADCA and approving accounts. So, we are looking to sign up Supporters -there is no financial commitment required from Supporters, but obviously ADCA will be hoping to look to Supporters to help the Charity and take part in fund-raising activities. Please let me know if you are interested in becoming a Supporter. The first AGM will be in Spring 2012.

#Charity night quiz
ADCA has been selected, courtesy of Joyce Irvine, to be the beneficiary of the monthly charity night at the Tuesday Lord Combermere Quiz night on the 14th February. We will be fielding a team so, you quiz fiends, please let me have your names!

#Audlem Voices
The Day Club is looking forward to the visit of Audlem Voices, courtesy of Jenny Collis-Smith, on the 20th December for a Christmas Concert and carol sing-a-long with mincepies and maybe a glass of sherry.
