Geoff Pike writes to tell us that he is planning to start a new Tai Chi class at the Scout and Guide Hall on the 21st April 2017. He goes on to say :
Tai Chi combines deep breathing and relaxation with slow and gentle movements. Originally developed as a martial art in 13th-century China, Tai Chi today is practised around the world as a health-promoting exercise.
There are many health benefits associated with Tai Chi, reduced blood pressure, reduced stress levels, increase in bone & joint strength and mobility to name a few. It is also really good for balance and I teach people with Parkinson's as it is known to slow down the progression in people with stage 1 or 2 Parkinson's.
I teach quiet a few classes in the Cheshire area and mainly my day classes are filled with people of retirement age and above. My oldest student is 90 years old!
The class will start on Friday 21st April. Time 11.15am to 12.15pm. This course would be 6 weeks long so would run for 6 Fridays. The full cost would be £30.00.
Normally what happens is at the end of a course some or in some cases all of the class ask if they can continue so then the class becomes a regular feature provided there is enough students to justify it.
All people need is to wear loose comfortable clothing and flat soled trainers are the best or light flat soled shoes.
