New dropdown kerb

After over a decade of asking, a new dropdown kerb was installed yesterday in Stafford Street just below the Old Priest House / Beaman's shop.

The dropdown is important for those with wheelchairs, buggies or mobility scooters, which have to go on the very narrow stretch of road past the shop window but had difficulty getting back on to the pavement on what is a potentially dangerous stretch of Stafford Street.

Several current and ex-members of Audlem Parish Council expressed surprise and pleasure that the job had been completed at last by Cheshire Highways as it will be of help to many local residents and visitors.
