My health and forward planning

As we planned the Amazing Grace campaign last October, I suffered a slight stroke that took away 50% of the vision from my right eye.

Then during filming and recording in November, I had to undergo a cardiac catheterization of my coronary arteries at North Staffs. Result showed left side arteries are blocked but some compensation has taken place on the bright side.

However, now having seen heart surgeon, Mr Balacumaraswami at Leighton, I am to have a new aortic valve put in place. This is because my present one is performing below 50%. And it could be calcified. And there are some potential problems due to old scar tissue from open heart surgery 30 years ago.

Accordingly, scans are to be taken to determine the damage. Then I am in the queue for surgery in June / July. Luckily this is after the Music Festival – I hope – but sadly I have to withdraw from the great ADAS Open Garden Weekend and to postpone the Donna Louise Garden Party here in Buerton.

Stall holders please note, as indeed must all the so very willing helpers, I aim to have the Donna Louise Party next year in support of that very noble cause.
