Muller Property Group has applied to Cheshire East Council for planning permission to build 127 houses on fields immediately beyond Tollgate Drive and Moorsfield Avenue, bordering the Shropshire Union Canal and the River Weaver as you can see in the plan.
If granted, this development would increase the number of houses and the population of Audlem by about 10%, with the consequent effect on services and the already congested roads in and around the village.
So this application does not only concern those who live on Tollgate Drive and Moorsfield Avenue, it also has the potential to impact the whole of the village.
Work has been going on to identify objections to the proposed development. A public meeting open to everyone is planned to discuss the proposals and objections in view of the deadline for comments which is 20th August 2025. In the meantime, you are encouraged to look at the proposals for yourselves even though this is a busy time with many people either already away or preparing to go on holiday – time is short.
